Powerlessness, Prayers & Promises

     Those times when a Mother's heart is full and tight and overwhelmed.  When the blood pumps love so profusely you are absolutely certain it will burst.  Those times when news and knowledge seems to defy our own desires and visions. Those times when prayers seem to run confused and empty of the proper words.  Those times when hope shows up for a split second, and then you foolishly try to spread it yourself somehow to make it at least a minute's worth of them.  Those times when you know she'll never fully grasp the concerned weight of it all until she takes this steadfast role herself someday.  And then...those times when you unexpectedly hear that still small whisper from somewhere far too Omnipotent for our limited scope, that quietly redirects, reminds, and reassures..."I AM holding her."
