Conception Of The Heart

Conception Of The Heart

"For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." - Matthew 6:21

It is amazing how God does not limit conception only to the womb. I am a perfect example of this unconventional, yet equally profound miracle. It was approximately 22 years ago when a little girl from China was placed in my heart. It is there that she has grown until God said it would be time for delivery in the near future. That message came on January 18, 2011 to be exact. The mysterious thing is that even as long as I have carried her there, the news meant she would surprisingly yet pleasantly come early to us. What we thought could possibly be another 5 years, suddenly turned into 5 months. Another perfect illustration of our little thoughts, plans, and ways compared to our Great God's! He never ceases to amaze us! And for those who might wonder, yes there are excruciating emotional labor pains!!! So here we are, and although this is by no means the beginning, and certainly not the end, we welcome you to join us on our mission...... to love Ellianna!

We will keep you posted, as our journey continues to China on May 24th, 2011!

Better Wait Than Never

Due to some scheduling conflicts, our Forever Family Day trip was put on hold until June 17th this year.  It was still a blessed day in spite of the Summer heat that had already made it's debut.  A perfect reminder of our Safari Park trip in Guangzhou in 2011.  Well, not quite that perfectly hot!  This year we drove to a new Zoo two hours north of us.  Our early arrival paid off because we were all somewhat tired and clammy by mid-day.  After lunch, we explored some other areas of the unfamiliar city in cooler conditions and eventually found ourselves at an old-fashioned soda fountain for an icy "snack" before returning home.  It was there that we met Chloe, our friendly and inquisitive server.  Chloe just so happened to be a 23 year old China adoptee as well, who shared her deep passion to return to China one day and become an adoptive Mom herself.  Her story stirred cartwheels in my heart. The irony was everywhere!  And in memorial fashion, the slight delay for our annual celebration felt stamped by God's timing once again.

Our little navigator!

Then and now...

Hmm, the rhinos are here somewhere!

Can we go in?

A moment of rest.

A different perspective!

I think I need a nap too.

Lunchtime!

Aahhhh...an air-conditioned museum!

Mmmmm, dessert!
